My Husband and I bought one this July and so far so good. Great car and saves a lot of gas. The space is amazing which we wanted because we travel a lot. Great car recommend 💯

Great looking car. As far as the HVAC controls, I’d leave it in HVAC mode and use the steering wheel volume button.

Like many who have reviewed this vehicle, you requested comment regarding the hvac/infotainment interface. I agree with Kia's choice to use this arrangement. It blends well with the clean, futuristic appearance of the dash and also provides an audible cue to which mode is active. Besides, most of the time, the driver will use the steering wheel mounted volume control to raise, lower or mute the audio source (who wouldn't?) and the dash mounted panel can remain in hvac mode most or all of the time. This is a non-issue, really.

The “textured” (I like that description) rocker switches can also be pushed in. The track forward and back rocker is only a rocker switch, so it’s not textured.

The non textured can only be moved up and down. The textured switches are the ones which can also be pressed inward for choosing options in the audio controls. I've been watching allot of 2023 Sportage videos, since I plan on a future purchase. It was nice to learn a few new things form yours. Well done.

For the climate and audio capacitive touch panel, you can set it to automatically default back to audio controls after a few seconds so you will always know that it’s set on audio when you go down to reach for the knob.

I drive the EV6 and I also have that toggle between the HVAC and audio. I found out that you can tap/press and hold. I got presented with a preferent setting. Now, if I toggle to HVAC after a few seconds is automatically reverts to audio. No fuss. No hassle. You’re welcome. 😊

I now own this car in the EX hybrid trim. The HVAC/radio switching does get easier. You can long press either button and then select either the infotainment or HVAC to be the default. It does make it easier.

I've had the Wolf Gray with Carmine Red interior (non-hybrid FWD SX Prestige) for about 2 weeks now. Love it, great vehicle. The shared climate/infotainment is a little annoying but you get used to it. Great tech and love the styling.

I started researching and looking at the new Sportage a couple months back. After much flipping back and forth between which trim level to get I decided on the SX Prestige. I have now owned it for a week and truly love this car. Still learning new things about it every day and it amazes me. I've never had so many compliments on a car before. Yes, the fingerprints are probably my biggest peeve but I keep a soft microfiber towel in the door and wipe it down periodically. Gotta keep it shiny and clean.
Thanks for the fun review.

My wife and I have had this exact SX prestige hybrid matte gray Sportage for three months! Absolutely loving it! Traded in our Explorer platinum and Ford Maverick to share this car.

We got the new sportage for my wife. She loves it. It's a super comfy and quiet vehicle. The ONLY complaint is the piano black. Overall, it's an excellent vehicle.

My guess about the textured vs untextured steering wheel switches is as follows: Maybe Kia decided that having two switches next to each other that operate similarly (up and down) could result in unwanted inputs by the driver. So, in an effort to create an easy way to allow a driver to differentiate the switches without having to look down at them Kia textured one and not the other. 🤔

I'm a stick-shift-only snob, but for some odd reason, this is the ONLY non-100%-electric vehicle out there that has me thinking of throwing in the towel. (Okay, the reason ain't all that odd: I sat in one and was FLOORED by how nice the interior was at that price point.) I'm looking forward to watching this review in its entirety.

My wife just picked hers up and we love it. I'm thinking my next car will either be a 2023 Kia Telluride or I might copy her and get a new Sportage myself.

I'll say this...I saw pics and videos of the new 2023 Honda CR-V, and wasn't impressed. This new Kia Sportage has way more features and probably costs less than the CR-V. Honda still lacks to add ventilated seats, a panoramic roof, a HUD, no hybrid options on lower trims, and no full digital dash. Which is weird, because the new Civic offers a full digital dash. Honda has a way of making customers to pay more for less. If I'm in position to buy a new compact SUV, it will be this Kia Sportage hands down!!

Before you bought these because they were the only thing that you could get approved for now you buy them because you want them and they’re nice!!!

I have the sportage sx hybrid and the problem is that the piano black does hit you on the eye when the sun is aiming directly up your roof. My fuel economy is at 42mpg in a mix of hwy 40% and local streets stop and go at 60%. Dealership markup was $3000 so pretty much tax and docs for me out the door at $46, 500. Also for the people planning to buy the sportage I can say it's quiet when it is on the road and the ventilated seats are freezing cold on the sx trim.

I'm looking at more expensive SUV's to buy but the hybrid Sportage has me really interested.
