I just got this dashcam a few days ago and I would like to give my honest opinion, I like the form factor (better than the cylindrical shape of the competition) it blends better with the in-car electronics so in my opinion it looks "more OEM", build quality is really good. You need two apps to run it (Link & Connected) which is alright, however the Dash Link APP could really use some love in the playback department, come on now! I'm talking about an APP update, add a calendar sort feature for easy browsing, what about clip thumbnails? How about creating some sort of timeline so you can navigate clips smoother? My two main issues are: A) Very frustrating: the footage stamp (date, time, MPH) is so, so small and compressed that you need to zoom in order to read it unless you are using a PC screen, you cannot zoom within the APP so you must transfer to internal memory, then export to camara roll then you can zoom B) I understand the file format is limited so special characters cannot be used in a file system when naming the clips resulting in YY_MM_DD_HH_MM_SS_F however, when you tap on clip details it will report as YY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS, why not to list the files this way to begin with? it's so much easier to search the clips and the coding is already within the app! Last but not least there is a bug in the system, every time you disconnect the dashcam from the app (iOS) it creates a very short clip 2~8 seconds (front and rear) saving them with a future date, it's like the system ignores your time settings (my case UTC -8) and save the files using UTC-0 resulting in clips 8 hours ahead of my real time, so every time you are done browsing the files within the SD card, you end up with some sort of garbage clips making the browsing even more cumbersome.
Cloud features work fine, like impact notifications in parking mode, etc. dashcam connects to hotspot/internet really quick, remote live view works every time but it has a 8 second delay (not sure if this is the norm or not as I don’t have other cloud system to compare with) Again, most of the issues can be easily fixed via APP update and firmware, the question is not WHEN but IF. The new Thinkware Connected APP for using the cloud features looks modern and pleasant to use, it doesn’t suffer from the ugly name format, however you cannot use it to browse the SD card, this is only for those notifications that you wish not to ever receive anyways.
Also, the girl in this review video is very pretty.

I just read an article on your newest dash cam. It had me excited until they started to list a bunch of new features instead of improvements.

If you haven't already please go watch Linus Tech Tips Dash cam video. It's a perfect example of what customers really want and the GAP that needs to be filled/fixed. Namely they can see a licence plate or can see other things with no middle ground. As things stand I will be waiting for a company to get it and make a SIMPLE tri camera Dash cam. Forward forward and interior. 🤔. Now I'm thinking... Need a techy guy, rasberry pi, old cell phone cameras, and a 3d printer.

People want SIMPLE. Smart and Busy people PAY BIG for the KISS Models of tech.

Ford is losing money because it added a million bells and Whistles instead of focussing on reliability.

Please Please PLEASE make a Simple, and all in one dash cam.

Wifi or blutooth detection with either a External storage device for backup when at home or to a cloud. Mobile synchronization or control via a secure and simple connection.. simple. Easy. No thinking. Little to No maintenance. Etc. And any maintenance can be done by a 70 year old with very little tech experience and a short video tutorial or simple instructions.

There are many ways to test things out to see if they are easy to use. Utilize seniors retirement communities. Offer installation and a prize.

I saw you do reply and read these comments.
Sorry it's soo long but it's filled with ideas and frustrations🫠
