Fun fact. This soda analogy is generaly known as interest curve and you can see it everywhere: movie trailers, live shows, games, articles and youtube videos!

Creativity can be a Sisyphean task. Ben shows you how to kiss and thank the boulder and step to the side to let it role down the mountain.

Bro. This is sooo simple and logical, just incredible insight.

Tension and Release explained in an prescriptive and approachable way.

Definitely a top tier video of yours.

Someone once told me "A Doctor is a Doctor because they can explain the most complex matters so simply, so easily, you feel silly for not having realised the obviousness for yourself."

Great video. The examples of sound design were fantastic. A friend of mine once said that he thought that jazz was a product of the sounds of industry and manufacturing, and it makes sense if you think about it. The syncopated hi-hat sounds kinda like a sputtering car engine. The blaring of a horn or siren sounds a bit like a saxophone. It made me think of what you said towards the end about listening to the sounds of traffic and turning them into a musical composition.

I find the idea of utilizing ambient noise to be amusing. Right now I'm working on a project where I record the sound of nothingness in various locations and sample it. It's louder than one would think.

And, besides all that you described in this video: soda bubbling is a nice white noise.

This reminds me of the sound design of video game microtransactions/loot boxes which are designed to give you maximum dopamine. Some examples I've heard are csgo loot boxes and cod battlepass levels

After being inside over the winter going outside this spring was amazing. Birds, bugs, wind, cars, little kids down the street. Not stereo, not quad. 360 horizontal and add 360 vertical. Ears are amazing.

This reminds me of my favourite John Cage quote: “The music never stops; only the listening.”

i’ve noticed that the intervals in the sound of somebody’s voice when their speaking changes and varies based on the mood they’re in. hence why the 7 modes are also named the 7 moods.
