Somehow hearing his voice made me feel closer to Tsar Nicholas …. I have always admired and respected him, I read a lot about him, this voice recording certainly brought a sense of warmth and intelligentsia about the man. He was a gifted, kind man but born to do an impossible job at the worst of time. Thank you for sharing this video… appreciated. 🌹

The Russian aristocracy has always been educated in the French language, you must remember that French was one of the most important languages in diplomacy until the end of the 20th century.

What is most surprising about this is how he doesn’t let his Russian accent overthrow his french! He truly is a Tsar!

I'm French and I new this language was spoken in different royal courts, but his French is absolutely immaculate, it sounded like a parisian. I'm always very curious to know how history figured spoke and moved. Definitely not the voice I was expecting, but I'm delighted I know how it sounds. Thank you so much for sharing.

He sounded so kind & gentle.
The images of his face moving made him seem like he was here speaking in front of me.
Blessed be the Holy Romanov Saints!

My former pastor is a self described "monarchist" and always spoke highly of the Romanovs. The more I learn, the more I understand why. Thank you for this video.

I’ve waited virtually my entire life, since age 17, when my parents gave me Robert Massie’s biography “Nicholas and Alexandra” which in turn sparked my lifelong interest in this era of Romanov history, to hear Nicholas II’s speaking voice. I’m not sure what I expected his voice to sound like, but am grateful to hear him speaking fluent French. Grateful for this video. R.I.P. Family Romanov
