Frankly, having all photos/videos/screenshots saved in one spot is the main reason I am planning to go back to an Android or Google device once I’m done with my current device. On my old phone, I could move files out of the main library or recents and the files I moved would only be present in the new folder. This made it so much easier to find and share images/videos

Can we add a feature where when you move a photo it’s moved from your recents and other albums? That would definitely make it a ton easier to organize. Most people use recents and it doesn’t make sense if you move a photo that it still stays there.

Ok but what about putting already existing albums into folders? I have albums for every year of drawing and it’s going to start to fill up eventually

I have been putting photos in folders for years. I wish they could work on designing a system that when it is put in a folder it is moved out of the main folder (recents). I feel like I am organizing but never getting cleaned up and then it is hard to remember what was out in folder and whar hasn't.

i have hundreds of albums…at the point of ADDING a photo, is a nightmare trying to find the Album I want to add to, I have to scroll down and enormous list as there is no option to search for an Album at the point of adding. As Photos iOS doesn’t support adding tags or keywords (yet weirdly it does on the Mac) it is still really hard to organise and find photos

OMG Apple is amazing ! 😇😇Its photo organization is still in "next level" 1 year later.
Here is one Apple Pro Tip if you want to listen - It is OKAY to learn something from Samsung Folder and Album organizing. That is more convenient and iPhone users will also like it.

Oh man it really is SUCH a waste of time when every image you move to new folders is still present in Recent Photos. I'm an artist and take SO many images and videos to edit into reels etc but I don't want to do it right away, so I could just select them all and put into a new folder to sift through later - but no. Every few days my recent album is filled with so much stuff I need to sort through - the MOST frustrating when all my work and social and everyday stuff is all present in the one folder. UGH.

Rachel, in your video you say that on our ipad or iphone we can put already created albums into newly created folders. But I have tried this and it does not allow us to put already created albums into folders. We can only create new albums in folders and then we have to move photos from our originally created album into the newly created album in our newly created folder. If there is a way to do this why don’t you show us how to do that?
You do give some good tips for organizing photos and please answer, if you are a real person, 😅, could somebody please answer my question that so many people have made the same remarks. Also, if I understand you correctly, as soon as we either create a new folder or when we create a new album in that folder and move photos from the Library of all photos in photos or from a previously created album, to the newly created album in our newly created folder, a new folder appears in that folder or a new album

You know what would really take this to the mythological ’next level’ that you’re always raving on about? If after you moved your photos into other albums or folders you had an option to remove them from All Photos.
That way you don’t have to wade through thousands of photos looking for something that you stupidly didn’t put in the appropriate album.
Or you may have a photo you are keeping secret, like a pic of kid’s birthday present.
Or a photo of your toe hanging off to show the doctor.
Or a catalogue of paint colours that 99% of the time you don’t need to see.
Or nakie pictures of your dog.
Or boring work related photos, that are a bit secure.
With how often people are hanging over your shoulder while you’re scrolling through All Photos, it would be nice not to have to consider what photos might be on display.
Obviously you would need an option to move them back if you choose to delete the separate album.

I feel like in the next update, they should let users move photos out of recents and into an album. My camera roll still seems messy even after I’ve organised the photos.

Samsung did it so why can’t Apple?

I have a PC. How, please, do I transfer specific Albums to my PC, from my iPhone, when I am transferring via sync cord hooked to PC?
My receipts were all in an album. When I transferred them to my PC they were scattered. How do I keep them all together, please? Thanks!
