I used to drive Lyft and I picked up a rider who thought it was a good idea to start lighting up a joint in the back seat as I was driving. In shock, I turned around and was like, “Bro, that’s not cool, you can’t smoke in other people’s cars.” His response, “Bro, I am not smoking, it’s weed.”

I smoke but am always respectful of my surroundings and people’s property. It’s common courtesy, also to my other smokers. If you see a kid hide your smoke when they walk by they don’t need to be exposed to that!

In the rental agreement, did you say no smoking in the car, the car is not THAT dirty, JUST normal wear and tear, on a rental.

I exclusively rent from Turo and ALWAYS take care of cars as I would my own. I treat my Turo rating like I do my credit. Strongly holding 5 stars and only rent from 5 star hosts.

I’ve smoking in so many rentals and have always made sure the windows were down the whole time and ash went out the window and at the end of the trip I vacuumed and detail the car very well and I have never had any complaints

Many folks care about apartments, cars they rent. Others don’t. When you rent you take that risk. That is why you need to factor these issues. Applies to Airbnb too.
