Color conditioners only really keep your hair dye from fading. They don't color your hair enough to restore color completely.

Little tips as a dyed red haired random!

Cold showers : hot water makes it fade away faster
Red shampoo and/or conditioner : puts on colour to keep the brightness of the dye and maintain the tone.

It's a treatment you need to do from the start. You can't really bring the lost dye back. If you wanted to have your red as vibrant, you'd need to dye it again and treat it regularly :)

It didn't do very much because these color maintaining shampoos/conditioners are meant to maintain the red over a period of time, not color it. They don't actually deposit color, they just help keep the same color tones in your hair and help the already placed color last longer. It's kind of the same thing that purple shampoo does for blonde hair, except purple is used to cancel out orange/brassy tones (you can also use green shampoo to tone out red). If you use these shampoos for much longer then suggested they can have a bit more color brightening effect and can make the existing color seem brighter, but it can be damaging to hair to leave them on too long.

But tbh you can see a difference between the before and after, the after one looks more evenly colored.
