Funny story:
Several students in my major and I were taking both a digital art class and a watercolor class at the same time. We had all just gotten done with a major Photoshop painting project in our digital art class and we were talking about it in our watercolor class. The professor joined in and at one point said "Digital art isn't real art"...She got death glares from all of us lmao. Quickly she corrected herself saying "A-as in it's not something tangible you can physically touch!" Niiiice save, there professor xp
Though yeah, I do like the feeling of traditional art. But I just can't get the same look with traditional works as I can digital. And vice-versa a lot of the time. I feel like they kinda go hand-in-hand, though. With traditional pieces I tend to think through my work more carefully, whereas with digital pieces I can just mindlessly have at it. Basically, I feel like I learn to be a better artist in general by learning traditionally and then applying what I've learned to digital pieces. But also, I have a more vast array of tools at my disposal with digital art, so I can play with so many different styles and concepts while working with digital. It's all a lovely balance!

I've been told by an old man that cartoons aren't worth the effort and isn't really art and that seriously offended me because I want to be an animator and this guy was telling me I'm wasting my time.

I was playing a pixel art game on roblox and i was early in the drawing, so i was drawing the beginning of a head with the guidelines. Some guy comes to me, he says my art is good, but in the debate/conversation/whatever he continuously says i am drawing pixel art wrong. I am sorry am i supposed to generate a face from my hand?

I agree with your points, I feel like people are just being jerks and being bitter because they're jealous of you and other peoples art, but despite that I love your art and you sound so pure and kind, have a great day

*Coughs* Art = Art ART IS ART no matter from what standpoint each is equally hard and each have a skill set, some have troubles more of let's say painting, to drawing

I can kind of draw something on my computer??? I don't really know a good app to draw, I litterally draw on the whiteboard app on my computer because it doesn't erase the whole line and it's not pixaly 😂 seriously tho I don't know any good drawing platforms someone help

Ahhh, that saying that "digital art isn't real art".. I know those people didn't know better. I'd just say "yeah, i don't even care what you call it" then just mind my business

I think the issue, at least my issue, with digital art is the fact that you guys dont have respect for neither tradition nor tecnique and that you always try to copy traditional art, its ridiculous amd besides the themes that digital artists use repeat ad nauseum to the point you cant tell two artists apart
