Best round was 81 and it was due to a few errant mistakes. I’ve been playing consistently for 6 years or so and my game has improved slowly but surely. Now it has gotten down to the mental aspect for me. It really helps to analyze each shot, think about all the possible outcomes and know where to miss . 6 years ago I would rarely break 100... just keep practicing and also keep your body and shape.

Thank you for your vids. I struggled the last 3 years with my worst index 22.3. After watching your videos and avoiding stupidity I broke 80 for the first time in 8 years. I followed it up the next day w 77 including a triple bogey. I shot even par on the back 9 for the first time in my 43 years of playing golf. This was the weekend after I was fired from my job!

your videos are absolute gold. when I play a couple times a year I shoot 90-100 but when I practice I shoot 80-90. I think if I keep implementing your advice ill be able to break 80 eventually

Outstanding video Clay. The only concern I have when it comes to the putting drill, not all greens are (created) equal. As we all know, some greens are better than others on the courses we play (varying reasons). It's always been a struggle for me to stay consistent with my puts for that simple fact. All in all, I like the thought process.

How to break 80. Swallow your pride and work on short game. Not from the mats either. You almost will never have a flat shot on the course. Hit your drive then play several balls on your approach. Work on using different types of shots with different clubs. Yeah you can smack you PW 150 yards full power a mile high but you miss left of right. Instead try pitching a 8 iron with a nice low arcing trajectory. More spin and a consistent flight pattern.

I had my best start. 1 over thru 6 holes but I went all downhill after that. Hitting nothing but bogeys and worse. Ended up just breaking 90 at least. Breaking 80 is so difficult.

Clay, excellent vids. I notice that all if your greens in the sunny south are level to the fairways. My greens tend to be mounded or elevated. I have difficulty with distance control, usually coming up short pitching/chipping with a 56 or 60 degree. Commitment to the shot is one problem, but I still struggle. Hints?

Two little strips of electrical tape on the club face is GREAT for immediate feedback and not having to spray every shot, you can hit 20 balls or so
