Hey Matt, great video. Starting on orchestra programming and this, along spitfire bbc discover are great resources. I was feeling overwhelmed about the "apparent" need to invest in very expensive libraries, but for people just starting out these are great resources to develop our skills.

Did you know anything about the stereo mix loopback device? You can use it while your main is being consumed by the asio driver and it will play back stereo source. If you cannot see it in WSAPI then right click in blank space on the recording tab and click show disabled devices and then enable it. It will allow you to use and hear stereo output while streaming or recording. Make sure to put the mains in exclusive mode so that the asio driver will consume it. Leave exclusive mode off for the stereo mix so that asio will not auto consume it and problem is solved. This solution work for sound blaster z(xr) realtek and coexant dacs but in sound blaster you must enable it in creative control panel stereo mixdown checkbox to see it in wsapi.

If you want hardware solution to use daw to stream or record you can trs y adapter your output and plug the other end of the Y to line in on sound device to loop back out to line in and plug your speakers or moniotrs into the other leg of the y adapter and use line in instead of stereo mix which will deliver audio to line in at less than 1ms latency
