Edu officially steps down as Arsenal sporting director, agrees Marinakis deal in principle

Edu has stepped down from his role at Arsenal as sporting director and has agreed a deal in principle to take up a role with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

A big blow? Not really. Edu’s departure actually gives Arsenal the opportunity to bring in a sporting director who can build the team more strategically rather than relying on rejected players from other clubs. While he’ll be missed, I believe this change could lead to real improvement for the team.
