Islam does not come from shalom but has a different root meaning to submit. But if you don't believe Islam is a religion of peace and say so, they will cut your head off to prove it. What they mean by a religion of peace is when everyone submits then there will be peace.

The argument of whether Islam was spread by the sword, for me as a Christian is an Old one. No one can measure 7th century standards by those of the 21st century. However, Thank you sir for the eye opener.

Islam is full of love, if somthing happens it’s the people doing it not the religion, if Somone is forcing a conversion that’s not the religion forcing you, it’s the certain people. I am Sikh, I find Islam Lovely to!

Hitler was an atheist. He hated Judaism but also loathed Christianity too. You talk about 80% hindu population in India but you fail to take into consideration the demographics of the subcontinent since a thousand years. Before the Islamic conquests, Indian subcontinent was 100% muslim free but today Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh are muslim majority countries. So how did so many people (in millions) convert to Islam from other religions so easily? They all were forced to convert obviously. Moreover, these rulers didn't convert every non-muslims to Muslim because they had to extract Jizya, a tax which was so heavily imposed on the non muslims to run their empire. If every person was a muslim, who will pay Jizya then? If non-muslim resources got exhausted, they were either killed or forcefully converted to Islam at the tip of swords because they can no longer pay Jizya. So yes, to a large extent Islam was spread by violence.

‘But’ is a conjunction used to introduce something contrasting with what has already been mentioned. This is fine, except when ‘but’ is used in complex situations where communication is sensitive. For example: in apologies, critique, and other nuanced personal communication.
