I personally don't drink coffee, and I sometimes hear people say stuff like "How can you function without coffee??" and my first thought is "How come you *can't* function without coffee?" Lol

My family has an electric kettle. We also have a cabinet entirely devoted to tea.

The electric kettle is ubiquitous in Europe, in the U.S. it’s either stovetop or micro. Just a matter of what one is used to.

That first one has Britain quaking. As a Brit, I had a physical reaction.

Heating the water in your microwave either superheats the water to its max possible temp, resulting in more bitter tannins steeping in from the tea, and under heating the water results in a watery tea. An electric kettle uses the bubbling action to automatically cut heat and leave the water in that perfect 180-190°F steeping range

I'm a tea-drinking American and I love my electric kettle. My sister drinks it too and uses the microwave. Everyone does it their own way. Everyone has their own "tea ritual". You may scoff, but people have been linking the preparing and drinking of tea to ritual since the days of ancient China. So, whether you drink tea at 3 pm with scones and finger sandwiches or pour the first cup over a "tea pet", you do whatever makes the process of having a cuppa feel special to you.

To be fair, these are all accurate.

Also tea DOES taste better with properly boiled water. The taste can even vary by the water you use. In my experience, it varies by region and wether you are in a city or in the countryside (safe to drink tab water that is).

“But olives are yucky… 🥺”
Bro I remember having a very serious argument with my best friend when we were in middle school about olives, they are delicious and I WILL die on that hill to this day

*NO! NO NORMAL PERSON MICROWAVES WATER!*

Heating water in the microwave won't kill your coffee,

Heating the coffee _itself_ in the microwave *will.*

“But olives are yucky” I completely agree

Olive lovers should be happy that some of us hate the things. We leave more of them for you to enjoy 😊

The temperature and method of which the water reaches that temperature in fact DO affect the taste of the tea and I am shaking my monitor in rage 😭

Oh, my! I have a wonderful electric kettle, a coffee grinder, a Mr Coffee 14-cup coffee maker, a shelf for tea, and...my doctor just told me I can no longer drink caffeine.😢
I'm retired, I still have all of the above, and everything I grind or brew is decaffeinated. It took a while, but I'm doing ok. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I love olives!

I don't like people who think they know everything and that whatever they do is "normal" and correct.

That face at the end of the first one is so hilariously grumpy

I felt that middle one in my soul. It always causes a moment of existential crisis when you’re trying to think of your favorite flavor and all that you can say is “it’s red.”
