Scott Sill takes you through the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Limited Edition. He shows you what the reverb, vibrato, and turning the amp all the way up to 11 can do! The limited edition has a unique look with an oxblood cover and wheat grill cloth. The big change in this amp and its best feature is that is equipped with a Jensen Special Design Alnico speaker.

Scott uses a Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman and an all original '72 Fender Telecaster plugged straight into the amp.

The amp is recorded with a Shure SM-57 running straight into the Zoom H4n. The video is shot on a Canon Mark II 5d.

Thanks for the vid man. Just ordered one of these and was looking for some videos of people working the clean/verb (which is mainly what I'll be using it for)!

If you are looking to get breakup from the amp without any help of pedals then I think this would certainly be a little loud for an apartment setting. If you are looking for those beautiful Fender cleans and will be using pedal for your distortion, then this can work nicely and be a great amp for clubs too.

@JonoFinley I believe there is a shot of the amps settings in the video at around 5:51. The only thing that changes is the volume obviously as I did my test and the reverb/vibrato settings. Here is my settings: Volume 5-10, Treble 5.5, Bass 9, Reverb was anywhere from 2 to 10, mostly 2 to 3 during the tests, and Vibrato is what I said in the video. I used tried to use all 3 pickup settings of the Gretsch. I should have done a better job calling them out

@Mosaphat, the reverb can be on with the vibrato or not. The amp comes with a 2 way switch to control both for on and off.

My personal opinion is that it is worth the extra money. I am a big fan of the Alnico speaker and I think it really helps this amp sound like the older ones. I do like the look too, but the speaker upgrade is worth it in my mind!

@twirlyboggs Thanks for watching. I agree the Princeton with the attenuator (if that is the one you are talking about) is a good amp choice for an apartment. I believe the princeton is less power too so it hypothetically should be a little more manageable for an apartment situation.

I agree with you the alnico really makes this amp sound great! Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to subscribe.

thanks for doing this demo- hard to find on the FSR DRRI as you know~
I have the reg DRRI so I was really interested in this P12Q speaker !!!

SumK- cleans are fine for apt., but these DRRI's really shine from 4-10 amp vol.
and at that vol (5-10) is equally as loud as a rock drummer in your apt. !
You may want to look at the PRRI if you haven't yet.
go to the music store and play one of these DRRI's and a/b with the PRRI---fun fun

Great demo. I don't know what the other commenters are going on about. I personally love that fuzzy distorted tone. It's like using a dynamic fuzz pedal. Thanks for the video!

Move or play exactly what your neighbors want to hear. This amp is great though and possibly worth the move! Thanks for stopping by and feel free to subscribe!

I couldn't honestly tell you if one breaks up sooner than the other, but if one does it isn't by much at all. I think you get the warmer, more full tone from the alinco in my opinion.

I am glad it all worked out for you. I knew you would like the LTD better, the Alinco just has the sound.

Yeah the plan was to use pedals to get the dist/over sound. I tried a Blues Deluxe Tweed and at 40w there was no way I could use it at home and the Blues Jr3 had an unimpressive sound in general compared to my Mustang 3. I've heard this amp starts to break up at 5 but at what volume do you think I would start annoying neighbors?

1 of the main reasons you would buy this amp is for the Alinco speaker so if you were already thinking of changing it going back to the original, then just get the original. You can always upgrade to the Alinco if you like that better and probably save a little money without paying for the unique covering. I personally prefer the alinco sound and couldn't say for sure if it breaks up sooner, but just do what the blues guys do, and turn your amp up to 8 and turn your guitar down to clean it up

@pdbordelon I have not noticed that with the vibrato alone. I did get a similar problem when I had my Phase 90 pedal on during my Hilton Volume Pedal demo. I would get something like you described with that pedal on with no guitar signal playing. Is there a possibility you had a Phase 90 pedal in your chain? Otherwise not I would say there is something wrong because I don't hear a ticking with the vibrato alone.

I cant decide between this or the regular at all. I've been playing the standard for 2+ weeks at GC and I love it, but this thing just caught my eye. I won't be able to try it out so I have a question. Would this amp at breakup be loud enough for a 3 piece blues band? I know the standard would be but I hear mixed opinions that this one is more distorted at louder volumes. I could always put the speaker found in the normal ones in it right?
