In this video, I show how to modify an existing font asset to add new characters without breaking other material presets that were created from this original font asset.

Note that this no longer seems to work (tested in 1.54 beta 1c) -- overwriting the asset file directly using the provided save dialog will break material references in all prefabs that use the asset. However, you can save the new asset to a different file, then overwrite it using Windows Explorer, and it'll update properly. After that, I had to Copy/Paste Atlas from the asset's base material to all derived materials.
