I believe she was trying to intimidate the jury 100%. I would have given her the max punishment.

My mother was actually threatened by a defendant who was convicted a year after the conclusion of the trial she was a juror on…. It was scary…..
It is soooo important to protect the identities of jurors.

3 DAYS FOR INTIMIDATING THE JURY?!?!?! I don't care if she says that wasn't her intentions, but that sure is the effect that type of action has. That is ridiculous. Who is going to be deterred from doing that in the future? What a joke. Or $1, 000.00 fee? Wow. No deterrent effect whatsoever

The jury is an integral part of our legal system, so by this woman taking a photo of the jurors violates their anonymity. She needs to be held criminally responsible for her actions.

I watched this when it was happening live and this woman knew EXACTLY what she was doing! I’m sure her anxieties going to be a lot worse over the next three days that’s for sure!

Her anxiety was through the roof, yet she waited the entire week, multiple times a day, watching jurors sleep while her son was on trial, and said nothing to anyone, to then finally take a picture of a juror? I called bs.

While I can empathize with what the mother was going through, I hate that she uses her "anxiety" as a shield for her actions. The mom knew what she did was wrong and did it anyways. I can't help but think that character trait was passed onto her son.

She knew the judge's orders. It took several steps to take that picture. It wasn't impulsive and anxiety had no part in this. She thought she could get away with it and didn't care about rules. No wonder her son ended up there.

What a relief there were consequences!!! Edit: Now that I've watched the hearing, I retract this statement. 3 days is NOT enough! The next mother to snap a pic of a jury will be smart enough to send it out right away!

I like this idea of covering one-off events like this. The vast majority of people don’t have time to follow every single trial that’s out there, so unusual events like this are super interesting to hear about.

Her taking a picture, including jurors, was just so unbelievable. I understand her anxiety but that’s no excuse. Even if some jurors were allegedly sleeping

Our court house doesn't even allow phones inside unless you have permission, but certainly not in the court rooms

Thinking that "the rules don't apply to me" is an epidemic nowadays.

I do not—-for one minute—- believe that she was going to delete that photo!

I think all members of a jury should remain unknown and hidden from everyone

There’s is NO WAY a judge would let any juror sleep during a trial.

I do not believe she took those pictures because jurors were sleeping. I think she took them to help her son.

What if she didn't have a chance to send it to anyone because they caught her pretty fast? Also, she should have had anxiety about breaking the courts rule on taking a picture or video but for all her anxiety she wasn't anxious or scared of breaking that rule.

Her taking pics of the jurors is concerning to me. Who knows the real reason she was taking pics. We just have to take her word for it.

Honestly- i was immediately suspecting her reasoning was going to be “prison does such horrible things! My baby was sitting there looking so normal and healthy still- i felt i had to have a photo of him before the system started to grind on him”
That’s what was expecting.
Not expecting intentional juror photo 😳!
