Königsberg
at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries

Music:
Romance for Viola & Orchestra by Max Bruch

Here I present a wonderful set of photographs taken of the ancient and historic city of Königsberg.
Königsberg was a city in the monastic state of the Teutonic Knights, the Duchy of Prussia, the Kingdom of Prussia and Germany until 1946. After being largely destroyed in World War II by Allied Forces and then annexed by the Soviet Union thereafter, the city was renamed Kaliningrad, and few traces of the former Königsberg remain today.

What Russians did to the city is an atrocity and crime against humanity, if Koningsberg would have been integrated with Poland after WW2, it would have been beautifully rebuilt just like Gdańsk, keeping it's German heritage as a proud display.

Sad that Russia kept occupation and that the city is now ruined with ugly Sowjet architecture.
Cmon Russia just give it back to it‘s rightful clay poland or Germany. Guess it is just a military base.
Poor Königsberg
Spoken with Prussian Heritage.
