Unifi Connect Finally Announced , Enterprise of things

Ubiquiti released a new video featuring a ton of different devices for the new Unifi Connect line. We take a look at the video and then I give you my thoughts.

I think they need to start perfecting the products they already have instead of trying to have a product in every line the controller still has plenty of work (Note k use UniFi in my home network UDMPro with some APs but that doesn’t mean I would ever deploy the udm to a client, I do use the APs in production)

The gadgets ARE cool. However I work for a company that has been all remote since well before the pandemic, and the pandemic caused a lot of companies to shift from office to remote which only accelerated a growing trend. I get why they are doing this - I just hope this focus on the enterprise and post pandemic office life leave behind the home and small/medium business market, particularly with a lot of companies moving to all remote or remote-first. And yes, they are going to have to have high availability and even multiple UDM Pro-like devices per large cluster or building for this to work at scale, let alone handle basic uptime needs.

Their lineup looks crazy but it takes forever to get to market unfortunately.

Our company has a row of EV chargers, but there is no management of it at all. Just first com first served, so it makes sense to have enterprise management of it. It makes sense for the company to begin monitoring and measuring this hidden (free electricity) benefit for either tax purposes or legal reasons.

This a a mystery they are coming out with new gear but you can’t get your hand on old or any gear.

I would not suspect a lift gate made the Access Module itself is more than capable to activate a garage door or any other gate-type operator (along with doors). That being said, there would probably stronger/enhanced integration between SaaSes 🤖

hmm So much Stuff they Showd i dont think any UDM can handle that much Clients @ once :D (All Thoes Computers Phones Cameras ect connected @ once)

The evening thing is probably to make so much sense unless and if it doesn't do this then it doesn't make any sense is that if a company organization has people that let your cars with their phones they can charge on it with no paying fee and people that don't work at that company can't use those chargers because they won't be able to unlock it it'll be locked for them

If they're not going to support Matter/Thread this closed system too limited -- they can't develop everything someone wants. IoT has open standards and they need to start playing better in these spaces.

I think Ubiquiti needs to kick Cisco out of the network biz because they are knocking it out of the park with there new innovations!
