Unifi Talk Is Finally Here!!!

Unifi Talk is finally here. It is currently available in the USA and will be coming to other regions in the future. We take a look at the settings and dashboard as well as the Unifi talk touch phone.

The Unifi talk phones can also have Unifi protect playing on the screen which I think is amazing!

Talk has been great for me. Been using it since February 2021 (4+ months). Have a UVP-Touch phone and two ATA adapters for older phones in my house. It's nice to be able to watch my Protect cameras on my phone's display on my desk. Helps me monitor the dogs when they're out in the yard.

Is there an intercom/paging feature? From 1 handset to multiple at once?

Also in Canada. #1, you can just grab a US number if you want to test it out. Takes about 2 seconds. Calls are crisp and clear. Secondly. Many of the features are completely broken at the moment such as Call Recording (works randomly) and Global Contacts Upload (does not work at all).

Good job with the video Cody. I’m not sure Unifi Talk is ready for prime time yet. It will be interesting to see Ubiquiti’s road map for this solution. However, I will say, I do like the UI and the ability to see Protect cams directly on the phone. You got my 👍 on the video!

Was hoping to install for a property with a main house with 3 outbuildings. All have CAT6 cabling and has Unifi AP's and networking gear but the info on Unifi website does not say clearly if you can have 1 phone number and multiple handsets installed/provisioned. Is that possible for the $9.99 per month?

Hello, great video as usual. I have one question for you about the settings of Talk Application: How do we put the Talk Controller Application on a separate VLAN ? I found the response for each Phone but i did not find it for the Talk Controller and I want to have all VoIP traffic separate from the Main LAN.

Bought a touch for integration with my other unifi products. Phone would make but not receive calls. After two weeks of trouble shooting with support both via email and phone, there conclusion was I need to get a static IP from my provider. Not available to residential customers. Not really sure how a static IP would help. Sent phone back.

If it supports 3rd SIP based then why is Unifi Talk restricted to the US? I'm curious what the hardpoint is that means it cant be used elsewhere

If the Talk app ran on my UNVR (or my self-hosted controller) then I would get it. However, I'm not looking to get a device (other than the phone) just to run Talk.

Can I use the UniFi Talk devices on my network only? No phone numbers associated to any devices but able to communicate with other UniFi phones on the same network without phone numbers (just extensions)? I plan on using them internally only with zero phone numbers.

I live in Canada as well and brought in a UTP Touch to experiment with. It was fast and easy to setup. I used a US to experiment with and turned off the emergency functionality so as not to accidentally trigger it. I am impressed by Unifi Talk and the phone. It will be great when they bring local numbers into Canada and I sure wish they had mobile Dect phone offering. This is my first attempt at learning about VOIP. Today I hope to see if I can configure a Yealink Dect phone in Talk but I am not expecting to be successful because Unifi Talk automagically manages the settings and does not show the settings I will need to configure the Yealink. It would appear I might have to use the Third Party SIP to configure my Yealink and that is a shame if it is the case.
Am I correct in my assumption?
