How to play Rock Paper Scissors

Rules:
The object of this two-player game is to beat the symbol your opponent throws in a best of three. There are three symbols: Rock (a closed fist), Paper (a flat hand palm down), and Scissors (a fist with two fingers out). Symbols are always thrown on an open palm.

To throw a symbol, the 2 players face each other and hold one hand open, palm up and rest their other hand in a fist on top of it. One player asks if the other is ready, once they are that player says, “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” Both players hit their fist into their palm when each word is said. When the final word is said, “shoot”, on that hit, both players simultaneously make one of the symbols with their moving hand and hold it open on the palm.

Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, and paper beats rock. If there is a tie you re throw. If a player changes their symbol after both players have thrown, then they lose that throw. The first player to beat their opponent 2 times wins.

When I was a kid, me and my friend would play a variant, where we could play whatever we wanted. As you can imagine, it got boring quick when we threw "God" half that time, which beat everything.

Saying "this beats that" makes the objects irrelevant. It does not clarify WHY, and then one has to remember. You might as well say "A beats B, " etc. The rules are: rock smashes scissors, scissors cut paper, and paper covers rock!

In my village we used a well instead of a rock. Paper covers the well and scissors down in it. But whatever the symbol is, this is perhaps the most iconic game ever invented.

Fun fact: There is a Malaysia version of rock paper scissor that we called "Wan Tu Som". Instead of paper and scissor, we using bird and water. Rock win against bird, bird win against water and water win against rock. There is another version where we add two sign hand to be more challenging with is gun and wood but that version not many people play because they don't know it exist.

I used to paly this game with my daugther and she used to always say That she can't believe that the paper can beat the rock. I also had strong doubts about that too . So, I had to come up with other hand signs to play the same game and she really loved it.
