Here is a DIY modification walkthrough for a Sterilite Storage Cart for LEGO bricks. to reinforce the tower to handle more weight. It's a bit crude, but it does work. Great for storing your LEGO collection without the fear of the Sterilite Cart collapsing.

Back when I stocked up on sterlite drawers they were affordable, now they are expensive for what they are.

Nice modification! Can’t believe it cracked though, aren’t those things supposed to be able to hold quite a bit of weight worth of stuff in the drawers?

If it had casters, would you need to put a base in, so the vertical wood wouldn't drag on the floor? I have a 3 drawer wheeled Sterilite. It hasn't cracked, but I was thinking of reinforcing it.

I don’t see how you solved the weight issue, the top drawers open wider ( the connection areas) and stars getting lower one by one, creating problems to open them. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Maybe you should stick a rod up the in the holes up in the bottom

Sterilite is pretty trashy material. Sorry that happened to you. I've never had a good sterilite product though. They will always bow and crack.
