In this video, I tour a lightweight, easy-to-build van, check out this van. Gaye and Robert built their entire van, including a couch-to-bunkbed conversion in three weeks out in the desert out of 8020 extruded aluminum and Coroplast corrugated plastic! This van features a full wet bath with composting toilet, a galley kitchen, a modular electric system, and a couch that turns into bunkbeds at night.

Not only is the 8020 easy to work with, it allows you to change the configuration at will and even move the entire build to a different van if needed.

Very nice van build! Love the tour. Can't wait to see their new van.

For those who want to use 8020, but don't have the tools or skills to cut it yourself, you can order them cut-to-size from the 8020 website.

L💕VE extruded aluminum!

Suggestion: use a large cargo net to hold the upper bunk, instead of straps.

Awesome job! Wow…your designs are new and refreshing. Thank you so much. My husband and I are using 80/20 in our build…as we speak.

Excellent and thoughtful. Thank you. Love their use of the EcoFlows rather than traditional battery setup.

Really cool van and great video! If I ever build out another van for myself, I'm definitely going to look into 8020.

Cool-the guidelines popped up when I went to add a comment! Loved this tour/interview. I may have seen Gaye and Robert in an earlier van. Admire their skill and what they build. I’d love to try something like this for my mini-van but feel my skills aren’t quite up to this. And still I love this build and how this team thinks about their van life. Thanks!

I would have liked to see how they cover the windows for privacy. Also, are the van builds/designs their first experience with computer design/technology?

While my van build is 95% done (is it ever really DONE? lol), I do keep looking at the 80/20 system. It seems so solid! While I'm happy with my vertical shelving, I do need to rework the kitchenette and bed space. Just wish 80/20 wasn't so expensive. Weight savings might make it worth the cost though...

I would like to know more about the inverter to charge the batteries while driving.

I was considering a similar layout. How deep is the counter? 14"?

I don't see this setup with the walls and floor being uninsulated very good for full time use.

I think they meant "2020 during covid". They said 2019.
