Again I love your videos! Just a few observations as I've been "Shiba Owned" for 14 years...the 500 is totally exercise time. My late husband and I trained Ozzy and a puppy by using the same commands. Usually 1 word (i.e. out) which he will actually stare and say "out". We were always of the sentiment "spare the rod and spoil the child". A quick smack on the nose is good! As long as you know your Shiba has 1 mission to guard their human...unless it's nap time...lol 😆!

Love the video! Shiba 500 aka zoomies aka crazy dog is the best. Like you said it means they had a good time and want to wrap it up with some crazy running around! Mine usually quiets down and falls asleep after shiba 500. Very informative tips!

Didn’t have a name for it - but love it: Shiba 500! It’s so true - especially after relieving herself outside lol

I love your videos. You are very knowledgeable about Shiba Inu. Our Jagaimo is one year old and looks a lot like Jimmy. She is a big part of our family. Thank you 🐶

Shibas are AMAZING animals, highly intelligent and VERY communicative. The Shiba 500 or zoomie: It means I'm happy, I'm on top of the world, life is great! We have a long hall way upstairs, our 2 Shibes will launch at full speed, chase each other, possible scream at each other, jump on beds, and generally go crazy. We encourage it, with loud hand clapping when they get close, even little swats on their bottoms as they speed past. It's a natural high for them. The stare: Ellie, not so much Odin, singles me out for her constitutional walk. The stare is very intense, the dog has a very full grin, and it's only with me (my son is the owner, I'm the dog's slave) She wants to go on her walk with me, she wants it NOW, and we are going, NOW! She has been known to escape if I'm not fast enough. We have our route, which she scrupulously follows, and we return, leashed or unleashed. The bark: It's mostly at ghosts, but they are very vocal, and they do have very different tones for what might be out there. Odin, if he is concerned that something just might be a danger to us, goes off the decibel scale with a completely different tone. The occasional ghost walking down the street is a standard woof-woof. Expose the little witches to water will produce the Shiba scream, a noise NOT to be taken lightly. Imagine your beloved pet having a hind leg slowly ripped out of its socket, and a knife cutting slowly into its flank. Yeah, that's the noise you get when they need a bath. Badly. It really does need to be heard to be believed. And finally, their intelligence is unreal. Ellie loves butter and cheese. I really think she would kill for it, if need be. Leave butter on the dinner table, turn your back to do the dishes or leave the room, YOU are in trouble. It might take a while, but when a Shiba sees something she wants, she will get it, no matter how long it takes. And they are fiercely loyal to their owner. The kids took the Shibes camping one weekend. Several of the guys left the campsite to walk around the pond. Ellie had positioned herself in a downed tree, facing away from the camp and the fire. The guys returned in the dark. I am told that the noise that came out of that little dog's throat could not be imagined! No one had ever heard her make that noise before or since. She calmed down as soon as she saw the members of her pack returning. God help the person who sneaked up on her owner, that 20lbs of muscle would have gone for the person's throat in a flash. They are amazing animals. Quirky, funny, smart, and pure love.

my german shepherd would do the shiba 500 too.
we called it "rug buggin" because he'd bunch up all the rugs from spinning out on them

Rayleigh would do the shiba 500 (or zoomies as we cal them) outside in the streets where there is high traffic 🤦🏻‍♀️ so it's very hard to just let him run it out bc we're scared he might get hurt. And ty for for tips! He stares a lot and idk what it means. And when he paces around for no reason, we're learning that he wants to go outside for potty (or for fun) 😆

My Kuma did shiba 500 quite often when he was young, but now only once in a while :-) .. however, for the belly up, as he always get belly rub every time so he does this belly up every now and then, like 10-20 times a day :-D

Wat if we do not have a closed garden to let our shiba do a shiba 500? He also cannot go out of the leash in a park where he could do the shiba 500. What is your advice?
