Ill give my first speeding ticket story. I was driving to florida to meet with my boyfriend (he lives about 9 hrs away from me). As i got to georgia, i am speeding quite a bit. I was doing about 91 in the 70 zone. Right as I pass a hill, i see a cop sitting there on the side of the road looking at the traffic. I pass it and try slowing down a bit. I look at the rearview and I see his lights and car start driving as soon as I pass him. I pull over. Since my tag is from another state and I got the "super speeder" fine (which i think only exists in georgia), if i didnt get a lawyer, I wouldve had my license REVOKED. Thank god I had a lawyer. It costed me 741 bucks but that was a very powerful and expensive lesson. Never try speeding nowadays cuz of that huge fine.

I got a similar letter when I was traveling northbound on I-476. This happened last year and it was my first offense. Since then, I haven't gotten one. I only travel 5 miles over the speed limit but the flow of traffic on the turnpike is usually 10-15 miles faster than that. I hope all those people are getting a similar letter.

Here in the UK, we tend to have a 10% variance plus 2mph before a fine is given

I'm a transportation engineer and the number on the sign is not arbitrary, but the design speed of the road. When building a road an engineer picks a speed limit, or design speed, first based on things like the type of road it is, the expected throughput, and the geographical restrictions then they design the road around it. With a design speed of 55 mph, there's certain radii that roads have to use in curves and certain restrictions on the slope of a road. Over all, the design speed is the fastest a driver ( i forget if it's average driver of 95% of drivers) could comfortably drive on the road and have enough distance in front of them that they can see that if they had to stop suddenly they could.

(responding to the question at the end about why we have speed limits)

Can't wait to see how the tattoo turns out! My sister has two tattoos, and might be getting a third. She is not gonna get too many, where it makes you look weird, like some people do. I, personally, would not get a tattoo because I don't think it would look good on me, and it's not me. I have thought of getting one of those temporary tattoos, which lasts for like a month, though. However, it does look good on other people, though. One of my teachers that I have had in the past has some tattoos, and they suit him well. Also, great video!

11:20 I had something similar happen to me a year ago, it was a avenue with three lanes, with the left lane being only for turning left.

Everything happened so fast. I was behind this car, waiting for the green light. The lights turned green for the two other lanes (middle and right) but not for the left lane. I believe the driver of the car saw green and decided it was good enough.

I went foward to close the gap left by the car, but my mistake was parking my bike sideways, with my back tire ontop of the white line.

In my mind i thought i was okay, because i didnt turn left while on red, like the car did.

All of sudden a cop car approaches me from the back, quickly parking infront of me, probably thinking i would speed away.

The police officer said that i broke a blockade and that it was a serious offense, but it was just a big scare, the fine never came.

I still think on this interaction because i felt so betrayed. The officer ignored the car that clearly evaded the red light, but instead he decided to stop and scare me.

on the highway i tend to use cruise control since my car has that function, makes it so i dont have to worry about my speed unless traffic conditions are changing often (slowing down, new speed limit, hills, etc). I do tend to see countless people go above 80mph (55-70mph limit zones) in my state on the fast lane but i always assume if i do the same i will get caught straight away due to my bad luck. crazy how most people get away with it though, i rarely see anybody getting pulled over for how fast theyre going and i can tell they're going above the limit by at least 10-15mph if not more. i tend to stick to the middle lane if available because if i go speed limit on the fast lane i will get honked at, passed by on the right, or straight up tailgated until i move off. literally have to always be a few mph above it to catch up.

Do you have a need for speed, Paul? You have been warned! I hope your first 6 hour session tattoo appointment goes well, the calf totally sucks! When I got my calf done I cried.

I saw the video notification while driving and you just know I had to slam on that gas pedal to get home asap and watch it! I'm sure the police will understand, I mean, after all traffic laws are just guidlines for those who haven't figured out their preferred driving style yet! Practice makes progress 😉

Legendary tattoo idea "uncle ER" cant wait to see this 🤟🤟👍 and from the uk I think our "grace speed" is like 5mph over as my dad got flashed by a camera going 45 in a 40 zone but iv found that you can get flagged for going too slow under the speed limit in places

I've got a few speeding tickets on my life, nothing too serious, but I've never had an issue with work zones, I've always felt some roads judt feel unreasonable to drive at the speed limit myself so I usually slow down, to roughly 5 bellow, when I see a work zone. all the cones and workers make me a little hazardly cautious, so I just slowdown anyways, double the speed. double the fine, good luck rift

What's funny is in the Lancaster/York area, you can routinely go 30 over the limit and you'll be keeping with the flow of traffic. Then in the more rural areas you'll get pulled over for going 2 over

in arizona they driver handbook says that theyd rather you go with the flow of traffic so you dont cause congestion

Hello, resident of the Sea-Tac area in washington state. The highway I5 thats cuts throuth the west coast is notorious for having crazy drivers. Things are wild up in washington, though i think there might just be less cameras
