Satie’s Gnossiennes have grown on me recently. I’ve begun to read music and am using these pieces to familiarise myself with the nosies and what not. So far I’m able to play numbers 1, 2, 3 and 5, planning on started No. 4 tomorrow! These pieces are really fun to play and each stand out from one another.

You did great. Don’t let these jerks tell you otherwise. Criticism is great, that’s how you improve, but these “experts” sit and insult you. Interpret these wonderful pieces through your heart, soul, and fingers. It’s up to you to make this music shine, not some pretentious old “musicians”.

This is so simply constructed yet so intriguing. There is a great deal said with very little. The music is homophonic and Bach was Mr. Counterpoint but I imagine Bach would love this.
