Sweet. The Yellow trim was similar to the S4's of the same era. This car must live! Projects to save a car like this aren't about the cost. Logic is well out the window :)

what an amazing transformation, love watching you guys, being from the uk, 99% of us learn to drive in manuals (stick) and the majority of us mostly drive manuals, automatics have certainly become a lot more popular now but its very rare to find someone in the uk who cant drive a manual, keep up the outstanding work guys, amazing

Love this one guys, great work! I vote for restoring it fully, it will still turn a profit I think. Could you get it finished and do another video of it please?!

This is a rare car and future classic! It’s worth restoring it and bringing it back to it’s original form!

You definitely need to restore it! Great car! I learned to drive a stick in a 1986 GTI. I've always loved the boxy body style from the 80's/early 90's GTI.

Love your videos guys. First off, I think you should restore the car as it is rather rare. Of course, that depends on how much you want to spend but it is a good-looking car. Yes, I do know how to drive a stick. I actually learned on a yellow Maverick that had the old three on the tree shifter. Again, love your channel and keep up the good work!

I’m 53, so stick shift cars and trucks were much more common when I learned to drive. My first 3 vehicles were stick. Great work as always!

This lets me think of my first car (MK 4 1.8T 2001 Highline), It still has me in love when ever i see another MK4 and wish i still had it and let the engine get restored etc etc.

I love the Mk4 body style. The 20th Anniversary GTI is a personal fave. If you can fine the correct engine (1.8) with its appropriate computer, the correct wheels, tires and brakes plus any other missing bits and bobs, it would be a great car. Even better - it’s a manual. Too bad it isn’t blue. Much better color that year. Learned to drive a stick when I was 9 or 10 in a 67 beetle! Drove a stick until just a few years ago.

It has to live, the bodywork and interior were perfect, the mechanics are the simplest. A hug.

*I LOVED this GTi the most. It's a shame the owner butchered it. The 2.8L VR6 staggered inline 6 was FAST and fun. I drove one for a while. 6-speed manual. My absolute favorite car ever!!*

Another great job! I like the all yellow look better for this car. These GTIs are a lot of fun to drive. Hopefully someone will get it put back together and running again.

What a sweet GTI… I can’t believe they painted the trim black… at least they seemed to have done a good job masking. The car I learned to drive in was a 1979 Diesel Volkswagen Dasher with a manual transmission, and I love a row your own Dub! I hope we get to see updates on this project… Are you going to put a new engine in it?

Always worth it to restore an older car as rare as this. Love Golfs but would need to be a special spec like this for me to own it
