Thank you for posting these. I was scouting ideas for my workshop overhaul and found your videos. I adjusted a few things from your design to work better for my space and I'm currently building it. I'll post a link once I've made it a little further along in the build. Added shelves for six Milwaukee organizer cases and will leave room between the bench and upper shelf for French cleats. I loved the idea of the floating shelf and the simple science behind it. I did manage to add a touch to it. I do not plan to store much on the shelves. Maybe a few lightweight big items, easy to move. So I used 1/4" sanded sheets to the top in sections of the cross members...only a few though. Like two 18" sections. The rest of the top I nailed down . So here is my little touch. I also nailed the ply sheet on the bottom of the shelf, where I cut the top sections to create a space to store, those rarely used items. I just lift the two top floating pieces. Did not feel like I need to buy hinges. I enjoyed the video and the humor. Keep up the great DYI's although your buddies were doing all the work..LOL. Stay safe!

Truck bed liner makes a very nice upgrade and adds a lot of durability to the work top. Spray on or roll on.

Great project. I use screws so I can take apart easily when I get another idea what would be better. And I don’t use horizontal runner on the floor. Just legs in front so I can clean the garage easily. Also poly the top to prevent staining.
