This is great, but remember to sit the miniature so that the area you painted is horizontal. Otherwise, the liquid nature of the paint will fall with gravity and the effect will not work. If you're painting one mini at a time and looking at it until it dries, great, otherwise, the colours WILL pool at the bottom.

This looks good but it is very counter intuitive, flame would be darker from the point of origin and lighter where it fades, whereas yours is backwards. It would make more sense to make it lightest where it is the thinnest and darkest where its origin point is, and while the flame would be dark there the hand itself would be brightly illuminated from the fire making it a nice contrast.

how you do the initial base? paint corax and then dry brush with another white? and under the corax paint was the original grey of the miniature?

So does corax white come in a primer? Or is that just watered down base corax? I'm so confused when people say primer but gw still calls it a base paint. I've just been watering down corax or chaos and applying a thin coat b4 I throw my real colors on.
