Zelenskyy: Surprise Russia invasion aimed to restore Ukraine's 'territorial integrity'

Ukraine plans to indefinitely hold Russian territory captured in its surprise invasion of the border region of Kursk last month, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told NBC News.

Asked about the invasion in an interview with our US partner network, Mr Zelenskyy said the operation was aimed at restoring Ukraine's "territorial integrity."

Ukrainians have to defend the line (border) and it doesn't matter if that line is in Ukraine or Russia. It is better to defend it in Russia, and if they could level it, they would also shorten it.
