It's no secret that walter white could not "Handle" mike if he ever decided to do his own thing.

And my retelling of this story would be if Walters attack on mikes life didn't fatally kill him, instead Mike was only grazed.

And how Walters house of cards came crashing down around him.

I absolutely love this version. We all know Mike would have been able to take care of the whole Nazi crew. As we saw in Better Call Saul. This is perfect with Mike and Jesse getting away and Hank being absolved. Wish Gomey was alive though

Honestly walt killing himself with a gunshot to the head also works as a full circle moment bc in the pilot he tried to do the exact same, only then he failed

This feels like the "good" ending to Breaking Bad that you unlock from doing all of the side quests before the final mission. Gus and the Salamancas are dead, Jack and his crew are dead, and Walter is dead with his identity as Heisenberg revealed to the world. Meanwhile Hank is alive and able to help the broken White family recover from the trauma of the last two years, while Jesse escapes with the money to live a quiet life in Alaska, Mike is able to look after and protect his granddaughter from the shadows, and Saul escapes but inevitably confesses his crimes and goes to prison out of guilt.

Man, the idea that Walt would waste all of his time on revenge as Heisenberg without seeing the bigger picture is such an in-character one. It reminds me of how “Heisenberg” almost disregarded Ed’s advice by leaving the cabin immediately, only for his irrational actions to sink in for him.

I love the fact you blended in a "What if Walter releases the confession tape." I never really considered Mike coming back after he died. I just assumed Mike would stay away but it does make sense that he'd come back to keep an eye on things. I think this might be your only video in which both Jesse and Hank survived too.

The part of Mike raising his glass after hearing Walt's death is the most "Mike" thing imaginable.

I love the idea of Mike and Jessie escaping together, it is 100% on character for Mike. Jessie is one of the only people he actually cares about by the end of the series and I could definitely see him saving Jessie one last time.

I really liked this one a lot. The way mikes character ended never really sat right with me
Mike got to live and still got to keep an eye on what he loved most: his family

And in the end, i think walt getting "the bad ending" was completely deserved
Of course, nothing can ever touch the actual finale of the show but the way this ended really fit with the show for me
To show how walter just gradually became more and more evil and twisted, which ultimately lead to his demise

This is honestly one of the best “what if” scenarios in breaking bad ive ever seen. The story lines up, the scene splicing is pretty genius, and best of all, Mike is alive. :)

I have a couple of ideas
What if Walter never dumped Gretchen and stayed in Gray Matter
What if Joaquin didn't shoot Mike
What if Tyrus caught Walt in the nursing home
What if Nacho told the truth about Gus

Doesn't Hank have both, Jessie's confession and the general location to find the money of walt? That could easily make him won the trial.

My headcanon is that when Mike “dies”, he’s just pretending, and leaving Walt to deal with the consequences of his reckless actions by himself.

Kinda like when sans says “Welp, don’t say I didn’t warn ya” and walks off screen when the protagonist wins

But Hank does have proof, the money is still in the desert where Walter showed him, they can easily go back and check that area again.

"he did all this for his family"

Felina would beg to differ

i really love the fact that we saw mike take care of jacks entire gang. it proves that mike was just on a different level from all the other goons

Mike is my favorite character. It always bothered me that Walter took him out. He deserved better. Thank you for giving us a better ending

It's a good theory, but I have one problem with the whole Hank doesn't have any proof part. When the DEA gets to the shootout scene, they'd go over the gang and find the coordinates written down on Jack's hand, and probably start digging there too. Then they'd find the money and isn't that the proof that Hank ultimately needs, since they'd find Walt's fingerprints all over the money and barrels?

Man this was brilliant. Especially the desert scene, I just love the idea of mike In the desert AGAIN, with a sniper and taking out Jacks crew.

I think this will be my favorite "What-if" BrBa/BCS scenario.

What if Walter successfully negotiated Jack out of killing Hank? I'd want to know how that plays out.
