I'm learning something similar to this in drawabox for texture as most textures are made up of cast shadows

This is all about oclussion shadow is actually pretty similar to old comic inking, make sure to know where you light is coming from so you can exagerate the oclussion shadow of your subject and bring the lineart aswell as linequality up! Being aware where the shadows are more prominent so you can add an exageratted thick oclussion shadow

I don’t do digital art anymore, but when I used to, I would kind of invert this process by making the lines thick and then erasing to add weight. Needlessly time consuming but you do what you can with those free art apps lol
