Clara Lieu was an Adjunct Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design from 2007-2020. Her artwork has been exhibited at the International Print Center NY, the Currier Museum, Childs Gallery, the Davis Museum, and more. Lieu received an artist fellowship from the MA Cultural Council, has written for the NY Times, and lectured at Brown University, the NAEA conference, and in Vancouver & China. She has been profiled in Artsy, Hyperallergic, KPCC, & WBUR.

I'm still just flabbergasted every time I watch this and her scratch board video. I had to follow her on Instagram. For as busy as her work looks, there is a sense of serenity of it due to the excercise of the mediums. It's simply phenomenal. I could look at them all day long and get lost in them. I feel like human eye will always complete the drawing, so when you leave a small margin for interpretation it works often well because the pencil scribbles end up giving an impression of the actual thing and human brain when seeing that makes a connection
