I have found I focus better when I am surrounded by other people working hard, mentally or physically. It's that competitive feeling that helps me.

whenever I focus on something I always do:
"ok this is important shit, focus"
*focuses intently*
.later on.
*goes back because I didn't even remember a single word*

Yeah I can't go to sleep without a sound like a fan in the background.

My son is 6 and a week ago has been diagnosed with ADHD the mixed one (hyperactivity and attention deficit) and I am starting to learn all about this condition. My wife and I say that he is like a young X-men who can't control his powers yet. I am sure he will teach us how to deal with this. Love him to death.

I think, it makes a big difference for people, if they are diagnosed as a child or as an adult. Seeing ADHD as a superpower after you kinda fucked up your life isn t very easy.

For some reason my parents never believe me when I tell them that I need music to focus. Then I showed them this video. Thanks for explaining it in a way I couldn't.

You just made me realize the thing I thought was hurting me might actually be useful. In crowded situations instead of freaking out when I tense up I shutdown. I've always hated that but that's how I activate hyperfocus and that's something I've been trying to figure out how to manually control, thank you!

I understand the hyperfocus, it is basically how people become so focused into reading a book they see what is happening in the book and cannot feel or hear sensation outside of reading that is an example of hyperfocus, where driving a car is near opposite that.

really inspiring words in a time where everyone just wants to give you medication so you'll be "normal"

I always think my ADHD makes me "slow". Then I remember I'm watching this video at 2.5x speed

Min. 1:33 "....My brain is able to kinda look at different patterns and connect things that other people don't always see...."

Whoa. "Whatever the problem or challenge is, they're gonna find a solution". 1:53. That's always been me. Superpower is right.

Thank you for this!  A lot of people don't understand how (or why) I have to have background noise when I'm working - at home it's the TV and at work it's music...  I call it my special gift and I DO take meds but primarily for work.  I allow myself to be my "all over the place" self when I'm not at work.

I totally agree! I have ADHD and when I was in 8th grade I learned how to fight back to get off the meds. I never looked back! I use it to my advantage and I’m able to be 5 steps ahead of everyone around me because of how fast my brain works. In my line of work it’s my super power. Now my daughter has it and I get to help her in using it to her advantage instead of thinking it’s a burden.

I was diagnosed at 32, my second semester in college. But I'm very impatient very, what I like about your video is no commercial, it was short, and you got straight to the point. If this video was 7 minutes long I wouldn't have watch it. Thanks for the video.

This video is excellent, glad I found this. I believe ADHD is part of our evolution and we need to learn to use this sickness or disorder or .... and not use pills. Meditation, writing, running are more than enough. Someone with ADHD is like a killing machine if you provide him with the structure, routine and some good habits he will achieve things 100 times faster than a normal human being I would bet. I think I have this thing too and it gives me more strength or energy it is like running 24hours a day. I just have difficulties on getting started but than is amazing. There are 2 parts that I struggle most with 1 is planning 2 execution. I have had many goals that I haven't achieved but when I look back I realize I can fulfill them all in one day. Important is to have a purpose and then create a plan visualize it and then execute it get the fruits and go on an island or somewhere to relax to disconnect with what you just did and see it in another point of view soo you can be proud of. We need to do the work we have and then stop and reflect, and repeat.

This is great support. I turned 30 this past July and really just gained the awareness of my behavoirs lining up with ADHD. I can look how far ive come through my hurdles and see that it has certainly served me during my journey through life. In this stage of my life Wife/Mother/ Entrepernuer I desire to manage it and not surpress it or feel flawed about it. There’e this thought I will like to let go of and its goes a lil something like this...“ I must be driving them crazy” “I hear I exhaust people just from me talking” So even though I have great content - I desire to slow down/feel confident/and not let the opinions of others limit my potiental !!!! I am happy i found your channel. Thank you
