I wish Google was more proactive in enforcing their new Android features. They didn't even allow 3rd party icon theming in A12, and in A13 they just pretty-please asked devs to implement. Same with the new photo picker and predictive back gesture; I was told it would be in A13 but turns out no developers tried to implement them. Step up your game, Google, or don't advertise those features at all.

Imagine Google forcing all developers in the Play store to do their stuff according to the strict guidelines. Maybe all of devs would be gone to other stores, but at least, few of those who remained would be much more useful.

I use Nova Launcher + Icon Pack Studio. That changes whole system icon and I do not have to edit icons one by one. Every time I install new app, I just have to open icon studio and tap on generate icon, and the new icon will also be themed.

This changes none of the icons in the app tray, so all your apps, other than the homescreen apps, remain unthemed.
Much quicker, and easier to use icon studio. It changes every icon in one go, and every icon will be themed to your own preference
