POV: Reviewing The Citizen Petition

We are thrilled to see Australia join the EU in recognizing the persistent sexual dysfunction and other sexual side effects associated with SSRIs/SNRIs—issues that have been overlooked for far too long. It's disappointing that the FDA hasn't made a similar move yet. We stand with the courageous physicians who initiated this petition and continue to advocate within our legal system for the recognition and action needed. Let's keep pushing for change and accountability. #pssd #mentalhealthadvocate #antidepressants #informedconsent #satire

I love how pharma and psychiatrists willingly turn a blind eye to PSSD over the hypothetical theory that "people could be scared out of taking life saving medications and commit suicide" while those of us with PSSD are actively taking our lives.

If they say they need more proof for dysfunctional effects, i say i need proof for chemical imbalances. So what?

Thanks for the laugh. I needed that. If we don't laugh, we'll go crazy with how insane it all is.

It's the case with neuroleptics too (I refuse to call them antipsychotics), it is though easier to coerce and even force people to take those drugs but fearmongering about the hypothetical risks those people pose, with all efficacy made up, maybe just slightly higher risks of what was deemed relapses but obscured by withdrawal. What is practiced on daily basis in many countries is simply institutional abuse on a mass scale..

Europe is way way way ahead of the USA, concerning drug side effects. This is basically because Europe places less emphasis on Profits. The USA is only concerned about profits, money, greed, and to hell with the patient.

I live in Europe but the side effects list didn't mention numb genitals and My doctor absolutely did NOT warn me. But is it My fault that I have PSSD :/

Shouldn’t anyone who has taken pharmaceuticals get a brain scan and see a neurologist also

Well our persistence hopefully is a positive. Today was supporting my son in court and they said it was only a 15 minute session. Say What!!! So my son's psych could put him under the mental health act for 6 months at a time to roll over and over and over for how long who knows? We stopped them in their tracks to wanting a second psych opinion. But most of them believe in keeping you under their thumb controlled forever that is...we have 4 weeks grace period so our designated lawyer can find a independent psych...so we wait. and they get nasty the psych and co and retaliate. sad I know. thanks again Dr Josef. How I wish you were in in NZ we need someone like you...🙂

PSSD is not the right name for the condition.
I don't know about everyone else, but i experience no emotions, no thrill, no interest, no appetite, can't focus and study or work, nothing. Why would i even care about some numb genetles when these symptoms are dominating the condition? Why is it all generalized to be called just sexual dysfunctions? And it is not only just SSRIs that did this to people, I've also heard SNRIs/Anti psychotics harming plenty as well, the symptoms are almost identical. how are these medications not being put in the same category?i'm pretty sure most of us who's lifes are ruined in this subreddit, are not because they don't feel their genetles, but the brain damage done to us from the drugs. It's cruel to conclude our conditions with just numb genetles, how do you even explain all your symptioms to your family ot doctors when the name of the disorder is SSRI Sexual dysfuntion?I think PSSD is a very misleading name. it should be changed, like how ADD in the 90s then had another name to ADHD. It should be named something like PSBD(Post SSRI/SNRI Brain Disorder/dysfunction). Remember these type of dysfuntions isn't exclusive to SSRI/Snris neither. people that were put on mood stabilizer and anti psychotics experience almost the same effects as us. If we don't even have a proper name for the condition, of course they will say all of the extra conditons are all in our head, all made up. that's what my friends told me. before when can i have the right name for this condition, i think it will never be reconized and push forward with research.

Dr. Josef, What do you think about the new antidepressants? Such as Trintellix (Vortioxetine)?

Just for your information; psychiatric medications are also used for euthenasia because they have this convenient 'side' effect of 'sudden death' amongst long lists of other life shortening and disabilitating effects.
