Texas state Rep. Julie Johnson, D-Dist. 115, is behind a bill that could give almost a million Texans health insurance if Texas would ever expand Medicaid. This is something leaders have ignored for a decade. But a few days ago - something changed. Some Republicans joined Democrats in support of it, enough Republicans to give it the votes to pass.

Also on this week's episode:
Jason Whitely talks with (D) Texas state Sen. Royce West, D-District 23, about where police reform stands in Texas and if any significant change will come out of the murder conviction in George Floyd's death.

In the Texas House, Republicans and Democrats have put together a group of bills to reform criminal justice in this state. State Rep. Nicole Collier, D-Dist.95, is part of the bipartisan group working "Smarter Justice, Safer Texas."
