Ep 39 - Cool Beans on the Great Loop - Columbus, MS to Mobile, AL

This week we head down the TennTom Waterway all the way to the top of Mobile Bay. We anchor out many nights, and are now counting down the days until we cross our wake in Dauphin Island! We are traveling with our fellow Texan friends, Dan and Roxanne on 80's Lady, as we will both cross our wakes together and then head back to Texas!

Being a truck driver I've spent lots of time around Columbus Ms. Hauled many tons of Peanuts out of that area and been through Demopolis Al. Many times. You showed the bridge where the Sunset Amtrack went over, a lady from my area was on it 😢. Tom Bigby water way is a beautiful river and you showed it well. Thank you for another great show.

Congratulations on your successful loop completion! We are starting in April and have learned so much from following along your journey. Thank you so much for taking all the time to put the videos together.
After things settle down for you, I have a request that I think would be so popular and helpful...a highlight video of your "tips" from the beginning. I got so much out of them as future looper and know others would too. Not to mention I would love to watch them all a second or third time.

Congratulations guys. Love watching your great videos. Looking at buying a boat in the great lakes to start the loop there in about a year. YES, I have questions. Does your main ship have one engine with bow and stern thrusters? Also, can I ask how much the whole trip cost you all. I have seen anywhere from 35k to 80k. thanks Dave from Oregon.

I always heard that one of the reasons to use a diesel boat on the loop is the Tom Bigbee waterway because fuel stops are few and far between and Tow Boat coverage is stretched. You need the mileage of the diesel. Do you agree? Where did you stop for fuel on that stretch?

So what was the rush to get to the bay? Was there bad weather headed your way?

Something doesn’t quite add up. If you are only at 91% of your Loop, and you cross your wake tomorrow, are you really going to do 9% of the Loop in one day?
Editing to note that it just hit me that this may be 91% of your trip from and returning to Kemah. Sorry to have been so dense! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed following you and meeting you at the Fall Rendezvous!
