Whenever I see brands that put this amount of effort into looking like 'the real thing' I just assume that's where most of the money went and the quality must be terrible.

I recently brought bluetooth 5.0 earphones for half this price and only had one cut out then reconnect almost instantly every so often.
Not sure how good the bluetooth 5 functionality is but it works fine on bluetooth 4. I've noticed it comes up as L and R earpieces though, not one device to connect to. And connecting both at same time just don't work on computer but it seems to connect to each other and copy the audio from one side to the other instead of being left and right sounds? They weren't trying to be knockoffs though. These are form a well known mostly budget brand that are actually decent. Although you do get what you pay for.

5:43 Correct me if I'm wrong, but while using google assistant or any other app to record, the mic in use is the phone mic rather than the ones on the earpods. bluetooth earphones/headphones generally have two modes, one for general audio, and one for calls which sounds like poop for anything else other than calls, but this is the one mode where the mic is made use of. This becomes more visible when connecting them to a windows pc where under the audio outputs, you can see two outputs namely 'Headphones', for audio, and 'Headset', for calls.

I am unsure if this is how it is for higher end bluetooth devices.
