I think it´s about the power dynamic of relationships. Women can have sex any time they want, they only need to say yes. Men need to first find a woman who shows attraction, is attractive to them, and then says yes to sex. Men may like to think of themselves as hunters but ultimately it is the woman who decides if sex happens, so ultimately no affairs happen unless a woman wants it to happen.

My experience with women cheating is because they are bored. Women look for happiness in a relationship. When women in a relationship are unhappy for whatever reason, they look for excitement elsewhere. That excitement is a short-term cure for boredom. They find excitement in the thrill of not getting caught cheating. Women sometimes want to play out what they have read in romance novels or movies they have seen. Women rarely think about how it will affect either person they are with.

She's right, women don't consider it cheating. Before I got married I lived in a touristy beach town. 75% of the time I went out during the summer I hooked up. At least 50% of the women were married (only one had a wedding ring on.) They make it their mission to get tan, get drunk and get laid. Many times these married women ended up complaining about their husbands or fiances. I remember one hot wife complained about her husband going hunting with his friends and last minute she decided to come to the beach to get laid because she deserved it. They always blame the husband.
