Assigning Unique ID to cell value using IF formula in excel

this formula not work if "paul Dickens" repeat once again after "Ricky Ponting" or " Adams Chris". please solve this problem

the excel formula works fine if you have the file as your file. However if you have let's say Paul is 1 and the you have Paul again after Adam you will get 5 for Paul now. Any way to fix this without moving thing around(grouping) ? Thanks.

What if you sort table? ID number changes and doesn't belong to original anymore..

How we use in same name with serial no 1A, 1B, 1C 2A, 2B, 2C
Means how can we also use alphanumercial for the serial numbers for the same data .

what if paul dickens is entered somewhere down the data, in this example the repeated entries are coming just below what if the they are not arranged in a sequence, will dickens get number 1 again ?
