Coronavirus: Spain amplifies deflation and divides reopening by regions
Spain has increased, since the early hours of today, the gradual relaxation of its restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. Now, no city is in the "phase 0" of the reopening, which started in the first days of May, which allowed few actions outside the home, such as quick trips out of the house for a walk.
Among the regions that initiated the so-called "phase 1" are the communities of Madrid and Barcelona, the most populous regions in the European country. The two largest Spanish cities have released some more activities to residents. Among the relaxation actions in the quarantine are the possibility of meetings of up to 10 people - as long as the distance of 2 meters and the use of masks is maintained -, the reopening of parks and the release for churches to receive an audience that occupies up to 30% of their stockings. The practice of outdoor sports, staying in libraries and accommodation in hotels (without using common areas) are also allowed throughout the country
This morning, the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez, published on Twitter a photo of him appearing in El Retiro park, one of the most famous in the city. "Open. Responsibility and good morning, Madrid", he wrote
To date, Spain has recorded more than 235,000 cases of coronavirus (the 5th most affected country in the world in this regard). The death toll, according to Johns Hopkins University, is 28,752 people. Both the number of new contaminated and the number of deaths, however, have been declining for at least two weeks, which indicates that the country has already passed the "peak of the curve". Phase 2 Some regions, such as Asturias, La Coruña, Cádiz and Tarragona are already in "phase 2" of the deflation - this includes permission to visit beaches and swimming pools, for example. Faced with this scenario, the local Ministry of Health determined certain restrictions, which include "the need for collective awareness about respect for social distance" - including in the water. In some regions, such as Arona, any type of contact activity on the beaches is prohibited. Playing football in the sand, for example, is prohibited
