The "Remember This" shortcut is one of the most practical shortcuts I've ever come across. It's simple to use and customize to your liking. This shortcut is all about remembering things as well as journaling or chronicling daily activities and events. In this short video I show you how to get it, install it and use it. It's worth a look!

Excellent tips and guide for shortcuts with great examples and the necessary steps. I had tried this many times and gave up because instructions from apple was very incomplete . But after watching your guide, I was able to create shortcuts. Thank you. Please keep it up,

Love this and have been using it for a week. The thing that makes it even easier is that you can activated it using Siri! You don’t have to type at all. Siri will use dictation to take your note!

Wow, thanks so much for the clear instructions showing how to set up a folder and/or widget on the iPhone and iPad to easily store notes created by this very efficient Shortcut. I use it most days, often as a tool to remind me to be present and notice what’s on my mind.

Thought I’d got this, loaded a small BLACK APP WITH A WHITE HAND, All that did was allow names, addresses but, no note! I left it onscreen, went back to this video, got things done step by step and GOT IT! It collected all my other notes and that is exactly what I wanted.
I have misplaced lots of things by not remembering what I did with them, wires, medications, books etc., but now I religiously make a note!
I was 40 when I first used a computer, I used to help others but now, at 80, a lot of my knowledge has left home! Thanks for your advice, it is much appreciated!👍🤝

I'm young, and I love this. I find that most things designed for people with accessibility issues seem to actually be great for people without them, haha. As someone who has a million "moving parts" to deal with at work and people constantly "changing the channel" on my brain, I find this incredibly useful even as a healthy-minded 37 year old without short-term memory problems. I work in IT support for a fairly big school district, and there is a lot of "paperwork" involved in filling out digital reports later on about many things I came across when solving issues or need to do later on when re-visiting a problem, inventory changes, etc.

Instead of opening my phone, finding a note app, pushing the icon, choosing the right folder or category, pressing write new note, typing things I need to say, pressing the option to add a new photo, etc., I can now do things EXACTLY as quickly as I need to and move on without losing my train of thought or screeching to an absolute halt. I like that it automatically categorizes it for you by tagging it so I can specifically focus only on these notes. The nature of my job is also having clients not exactly being very socially aware outside of themselves and hounding me to solve their problems while I'm clearly busy helping someone else, so this truly helps me stay on-task. Such an excellent discovery! As much as I know about multiple operating systems, I never play around in "shortcuts" too much. It's great this was brought to my attention, thanks!

I have just found your videos, Rich. I’m going to have to watch on my iPad so I can start and stop the video while following your instructions on my iPhone. You might recommend this for us old timers, as remembering several things in a row can be challenging for octogenarians. Now to practice a bit until I’m comfortable using these widgets! Again, thanks.

I am very old and very slow. And as you moved through your instructions, various links you directed us to press did not seem to exist on my iOS 17.2.1. I had to experiment. I repeated short chunks until I stopped floundering. Near the end I created the “Remember This” folder, having created a test note with several test entries. After creating the Remember folder nothing would appear there. Finally I deleted my test note with its entries. The new Remember This folder worked perfectly. Ah sweet success. I’m leaving you now for a well deserved nap.

I appreciate your comprehensive descriptions, but, GOOD GRIEF, this one is a good illustration of how convoluted Apple filing management is! I will often just send a link to my messages to retain a note or address!

Wow, I am so pleased! This morning I knew nothing about widgets, and now I have completed all of your instructions and have both widgets installed and performing perfectly. Thank you so much, I feel like I am having one on one tutoring ❤.

Thanks heaps Rich for explaining “ remember this “ its gold. I had a stroke a few years ago and im slowly coming right . remember this helps me remember stuff. If i want to remember something for later on i quickly put it in remember me . I go through my list every day and tick things off. It helps me to keep up with others. Thanks again Rich . My only advise, im pretty good with IT, and it can be a bit tricky. If you struggle setting it up get help. It is so worth it 😊

Thanks for this short cut. Let works great for me. I want to mention I use the microphone to dictate my notes. For us with shaky hands it really helps. Thanks again for making life easier

Rich - Love your channel and your presentation and instruction style.

The remember this note creates a #remember tag in the note. From there a Smart Folder can be created using the #remember and the notes go into that folder without editing the shortcut!

In case someone is nervous about editing the shortcut!!
