Love the idea of the Whoop strap. I just wish it didn’t have a subscription service and was just a one time cost

This whole "buy a physical product and than pay extra for a subscription model" is an entire scam. So I am basically investing in a company, and I am at their mercy when it comes to pricing. Because if they change the pricing and I don't want to use the service anymore, I am stuck with a +200$ investment.
I'd never buy such a product.

I don't have enough space on my arms to carry all these fitness trackers!

That Ultrahuman ring immediately caught my eye. Was somewhat disappointed with the Oura ring since it’s a subscription based service.

I use a garmin instinct 2. I’ve had an apple watch (twice, different models) and oura ring. Settled on the garmin. Best blend of all the stats tracking / sleep / HR / body battery / stress levels / recovery status

The app Athyltic on the Watch is very similar to the whoop app. It isn't quite as good but it still gives you tons more insight. I do wish the whoop would pull in data straight from the health app so you could use the watch as an alternative.

That questionnaire is so important at the start for whoop coz end of week or month it will give you a detailed report using those questionnaire answers

So ultrahuman is the way to go. Thanks !
I really wanted an Oura ring but I refuse to pay monthly for something right now. I’m trying to down size and cannot afford that life style right now.

I have worn an Apple Watch since launch. I have worn a Whoop since 2017. I also use a Polar H10 chest strap and tried an Oura Ring. I view the Polar H10 to be the most accurate and have calibrated it at a sports medicine center. The closest device for activity tracking is the Apple Watch without question. It is virtually equivalent to my Polar H10. I find the Apple Watch far more confortable. However, the Apple Watch does not have well developed recovery tracking because it does not measure HRV automatically. The Whoop is great for sleep and recovery but absolutely terrible for activity tracking. It has the lowest correlation to the Polar H10. The Ring is great for tracking sleep and recovery. It actually was better at tracking activity than the Whoop. Ideally, I would have Apple but Whoop so that the algorithms/software that make Whoop great, could leverage the Apple Watch’s data tracking. This video was helpful but makes me think I should cancel my Whoop and stick with the Apple Watch…

This was an epic video. Loved how you put everything together. You even answered the question I had at the end about what's the best combo depending on your lifestyle. Thanks Oliur

Amazing video. Been wondering how accurate a tracking ring could be compared to other devices and I'm pleasantly surprised! Just a note about you having trouble sleeping 9 hours, that's not a bad thing!! Average adults require between 7:30 and 8 hours of sleep to reach optimal form when everything else (exercise and nutrition) is, again, average. The fact you managed to reach 7 hours so consistently with the life and schedule you have is already very impressive imo

whoop is insanely detailed. It's almost overwhelming how much it tracks and how much info you get from it. Was super useful to me as a college athlete, but since then it just feels way over the top.

So glad I came across this video, I've been looking for a ring sleep and recovery tracker that DO NOT have a monthly subscription. The ring covers literally everything I was looking for.

15:33 On calories. Be sure to check your weight is accurate and your using a proper heart rate monitor. I use a polar hear rate monitor paired to the watch directly and the calorie counting is far better for workouts especially runs and HIT. This is likely because the watch samples heart rates at a lower rate. It can be as bad as every 5 seconds whereas polar can get multiple readings per second.

Used both the Apple Watch and Whoop for 2.5 years but once the AW8 came out I just stuck with the watch.

I figured I would always need the time for the gym or while running, and once the 8 came out with the improved battery life I was finally able to use it throughout the day and night for sleep tracking. The Whoop was also wildly inaccurate when it came to sports with heavy hand movement (Tennis, Football, etc.).

paying a subscription for a device i purchased is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. you end up paying waaaay more in the long term that's ridiculous.

I have the Ultrahuman it gives me all the information I need.
I'm not that pedantic.
I think that it's improved via updates alot.
My only critiques are I wish they offered half sizes for the ring.
And that it can be uncomfortable for some weight lifting.

had the same opinion on calorin tracking for workouts with my normal Apple watch, but for nearly a year I have used the apple watch ultra and it looks way more correct with this one.

I’ve had them all and returned them all. Waste of money. People just need to have balance and watch what they eat. Work out and have a plan. You don’t need an $800 device to tell you that.

I wish I didn't hate wearing my Apple Watch to bed so much. I've tried 6-7 times now and it always ends up bothering me so much I take it off. Maybe I should get a ring or something
