for gorgeous furniture for cheap my fave is to find old solid wood pieces, especially tables - then strip them and wax them (or a satin finish clear varnish).

Another tip similar to painting your furniture is contact paper! I've gotten so much stuff for free/cheap and just cover it with super cheap contact paper. I got an IKEA shoe holder thats normally $199 for $20 because the white paint was super chipped. I took the top off and covered it in $6 faux marble and the drawers/side in a $10 roll of faux walnut and it looks SO high end. Thanks for all the tips Kiva!

Yes, I have a plaid linen tablecloth that I use as a bedspread on my guest bed. A textural shower curtain, too for the same purpose. Both thrifted for about $5 each. Great for the warm months.
