Faction: The U.S. Army

Before the war had started the US army was a small professional force. When Germany overran Poland within a matter of weeks in 1939, a greater urgency was put on building up the numbers in the Army already envisioned by the Rainbow plan.

In 1940 the United States introduced selective conscription requiring registration of all men between 21 and 35 and by 1941 the US Army had grown to 1,500,000 men.

On 7th December 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, declaring war on the USA. The sleeping giant had been awoken. The US Army expanded greatly as a result both from volunteers and increased conscription.

Thank you America from Australia. If the US didnt push the Japanese back, then Australia would have been conquered. Australian troops were in North Africa and at the time Australias population was only around 10 million, we would never have had the man power to protect our massive land area. Thanks again.
