Great video! However, the reality is that many German IT companies are not hiring, especially non-German speakers. Most of the time, they require at least a B2 level, which increases competition for English-speaking roles.

I know many developers who have been with their companies for a long time, but now the companies are resorting to micro-management, scrutinizing every minor detail, and actively looking for ways to terminate their employees.

Due to the weak job market, companies are also not offering proper salary raises or increases. Many people have been stuck at the same salary for a long time, and bonuses or additional incentives have been cut in several companies. They claim they are not firing employees, but rather reducing perks and benefits. :(

As someone who lives in Germany I can tell you that it doesn’t worth it. There are few companies hiring and lots of ghost jobs. The culture is not service oriented

All these reports individually are not very representative, which is why our company purchases salary analytics from 13 different providers and builds its own analysis based on these reports to understand how much to pay developers.

As a computer scientist graduating from a PhD in Berlin, I’d say that these per city opening/professional ratios are meaningless as we compete for fewer jobs with global applicants. Most positions reach 100+ applicants within days.

It's really challenging to secure an interview as a Turkish software engineer. What do you think about this? (P.S.: I am a Senior Java Developer with 5 years of experience, working at one of the leading telecommunications companies in Turkey, and a graduate of the country's top technical university.)

The market is dead. Especially for immigrants.
90% of TU dortmund Master's students didnt land a job.
RWTH's CS division follows the same story although lower number than TU Dortmund.

These are some of the best Universities in the country.
This is a sorry state of conditions in Germany for Junior developers.
There was a huge lay-off trend that is going in since the past 2 years, the companies black mail you if you don't let yourself go.

I work in Berlin for above 5 years, germany is not a heaven. First, the numbers you cover for living is for locals. Not for expats, if you’re not german or foreign with good language skills, no one would give you an apartment to rent for that average price. You’ll get expensive apartments that comes with additional bills. And you will have a lot of trouble in extending your stays due to bureaucracy, and racism rising up. So decide only if you can handle these.
