Great Video; however, I don't think you ever explained why you can not do what your student suggested - reduce the base and exponent of the larger Index by the same amount. You explained why that, in the example you used, it will 'coincidentally' work, but you didn't share (in the video) what the more widely applicable process of finding the same base.
