This will be a chronological journey of the hows and whys of my guitar acquisition. Some of the stories are mildly interesting. Some of them are not interesting at all. But it is a catalog of some pretty cool instruments. This is the first in a series.

A fascinating video. I started playing guitar in my teens on an old beaten up Spanish guitar which had a broken tuning knob so you had to tune it with a pair of pliers! Eventually, for my 30th birthday I bought myself my first decent acoustic, a Yamaha FG 335 II, which I still have. I then moved on to electric guitars and bought a Yamaha Pacifica and a small practice amp and kind of stopped playing acoustic for a while. I traded the Pacifica for a MIM Strat (which I still have) and now have quite a collection of electrics. But I always hankered after a really good acoustic and tried various Dreadnought style guitars (D28, Hummingbird, Dove etc) before I eventually fell in love with Gibson J-45. I agree that you can never have enough acoustic guitars (I also have a couple of resonators and a Weissenborn style guitar) and will probably end up buying a smaller bodied guitar for finger picking.
