This was helpful! Do you have any advice on how to make my first resume? I’m in my first year of high school and I wanna start applying for a summer job.

What about for entry level positions? I’m having a hard time making myself sound like a well rounded applicant even with no experience in the job field i’m applying in.

recruiters are using keywords and booleans to look for cv search so the best way is to not out anything not related or your cv will pop out to wrong search

Where can I find more of those articles on the statistics of resumes? Like how likely someone is to get hired or ignored, based on whatever characteristic of their résumé

Hey Erin, what jobs can a 13 or over teenager get? They can vary in experience, as i have experience in cooking, tutoring, and libraries(sorting books[a lot of them], fixing, organizing, and basically anything you can do). Im very good at adapting to any role given, and I can work almost anytime(including night shifts).I am certified in first aid. Any job is fine for me, but flexibility is needed. Im great around all people and can work almost anywhere, including online. Btw im in Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 I'm really good at working with my hands

Can you please do a skills section for unarmed grave shift security guard?

But after the step 3, how do you propose to end it? Just like: "A motivated sales personnel with 4 years of experience with a background of infant care products with specialty in managing budget"? Doesn't that need an ending to complete a sentence?

This seems like it would only work though when you know what career field you want to work in, have already been working in that field for 2+ years, and are only applying for a new job within that same career field. It doesn't make sense to use this if you're switching careers or trying to still gain experience in the field you want...

Also, I've heard many people say that summaries or objectives on a resume are outdated? I'd rather use the space to expand on my work experience where I can put more details 🤷

So for the "what I do" part, should I put the job that is most relevant to the one I want? Or the job I'm applying for? I'm a behavioural interventionist applying for an education assistant job. They are similar jobs but in a different environment. The BI job is working with kids with special needs in their homes, and the EA is working with kids with special needs in a school/classroom environment. But they are technically different roles and I've never done the EA job before and I don't have the required certification but I'm applying anyway because I think this school makes exceptions when presented with the right candidate. Thank youuu!

I've been a stay at home mom and house wife for over a decade. I've never had a resume and I only have had one job in the past 9 years. I don't even know where to start. I applied to a few places recently and got a call back, unfortunately when I tried to explain that I didn't have a resume and only had the one job. The hiring manager laughed at me and told me I shouldn't bother applying for anything because nobody is going to hire someone like me. Then he hung up on me. I'm not sure what to do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Watching @AdviceWithErin should be a curriculum requirement but it doesn’t have to be. I’ll watch either way!

If you're in a different area but want to relocate how do you add that to the summary so they don't just throw out your resume bc of the foreign phone number?
