The best part of this video is that the makers had the sense to REVIEW and SUMMARIZE. This is a basic teaching technique that 99 out of 100 videos forget to employ. Good work boys!

I think you nailed the top 4, but perhaps a tip in post: use a bit of compression in dialogue and if still need to separate dialogue from ambient & effects, make sure they aren't sharing all the same frequencies so much, give them a little different EQ for further separation

Y'all need to make a sound subscription course... It needs to be serious, deep and advanced.

That first tip really helped! I have access to a sound effects library but I always felt like it was unprofessional or like I was cheating when I used it & as if I wasn’t a professional filmmaker. That helped a lot!

The best tip is to convince production to make the film in locations where undesired noises can be controlled.

Best sound tip: use TWO sources ...ie two lapels or one lapel and one boomed ....if you don't get the audio, you're screwed :)

it would be great if you added examples from films to better illustrate your points on what should be "cinematic" audio.

question: when using sunlight (which changes) ...do you manually set the aperture and shutter or go on auto ask b/c the sun is changing, and hence if you went manual, you would have to constantly adjust

Thank you! I bought a boom pole and recorder and have no experience. Do you know if you need to adjust the recorder in anyway mid shoot?

If you record “clean audio” and decide to use it, it might not be in lip-sync with the footage shot earlier. So when do you use the clean audio?
